A Purse

I'm done talking about tomatoes for a little while (you can sigh in relief now). I snapped this little picture to remind me of the obsession Little Red has with purses. She loves to put things in them, take things out of them, and put one (or two!) up over her shoulder and walk around the house. I'll say, "Honey, are you going shopping?" and she'll say, "Yes," nod her head and head towards the front door, waving bye-bye.

We are going to be in trouble when she's a teenager aren't we? I'm going to have to remember how cute it was when she was 1.

Do I have tomato on my face?

As many of you know, we are growing some tomatoes in our backyard!!! I LOVE homegrown tomatoes - and I'm just imagining all the things I can do with them... salads... salsa...marinated... with fresh mozerella cheese.... We (okay, well actually, Brian) planted small tomatoes called "sweet 100" and then 2 other regular sized tomatoes (celebrity? beefsteak?) We finally had our first little tomato last week and I just had to take its picture. I sat it next to a regular tomato just to get a size comparison. But my bright idea to take its picture came at night and the lighting is really poor so I kept moving them to various places around my kitchen to try to get a decent picture:

Well after I looked at too many pictures of tomatoes in various places around my kitchen, it started to look like I took them on a tour of my house, so I thought, "Where else would my tomatoes like to go?"

They went to see the Ice at the Gaylord exhibit...

went for a ride at the airshow...

and took a little wagon ride with Little Red...
Hahaha...sigh... then we ate them. They were rather tastey!
;) The people in the white coats are going to lock me up and throw away the key one day aren't they...

A Day in the Life

I'm going to try this video thing... I just grabbed a random moment from our day, she's running around pretty well now as you'll be able to see here (hopefully if my video uploads correctly!)

800-222-1222

Yes, I have the number for the Poison Control Center memorized now since it's the THIRD time I've called it this year... don't I feel like "Parent of the Year"... I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to reach a limit of poison control center calls - they ask you your name (first and last) and zip code and your child's name and age. Lets say after 5 calls in a 6 month period... do they call CPS? Do they come take her away because she's obviously with a negligent parent? The first time I called she had eaten the berries off of a poinsettia, the second was a packet of silica gel, and this time was a bottle of reed-diffuser style home fragrance. People take note here: toddlers are SNEAKY and QUICK and when you think you've got all the important stuff baby-proofed they find something!

But my sneaky little toddler is the shining star of my world - her trick this week is dancing! She spins in circles in the kitchen, bounces up and down to the Sesame Street theme song, and dancing to old school rap music in the car seat. She was "raising the roof" and waving her hands in the air (wave 'em like ya just don't care)! But the funniest part is that we didn't teach her this - we have no idea where she picked this up! She is really her own person with her very own sweet personality! Too bad I couldn't get a picture of her dancing - or better yet, some video!

Just in case you were wondering: poinsettia berries aren't toxic to children, silica gel isn't either it's mostly a choking hazard, and the home fragrance would cause a chemical burn at most since it's an essential oil. Our sweet girl is fine and I don't think she liked the vanilla-almond oil taste at all!!!
